Our structure
The Directorate of Information (DoI) is made up of two distinct business groups that work independently as well as in conjunction with one another. You can read more about each business group by clicking on the links below.
DoI Services
The DoI Services group delivers ICT solutions to support operational needs, strategic
priorities and improve or upgrade our current systems and infrastructure.
It includes the Command and Control (C&C) programme, which develops and enhances the technology that supports a large
part of real-time operational policing - the Met’s 24/7 emergency
service.Successful operational policing depends upon reliable technology
systems. DoI Services group are responsible for the delivery of reliable
and secure ICT through a combination of direct service provision
and a number of key service suppliers.
Security, Strategy & Performance
Group
Playing a lead role in the DoI’s overall strategy
development, information management and technology, this group ensures
that DoI
strategies
and activities support the Met’s corporate and policing aims. Information
is the lifeblood of modern policing. The demand for instant access
to information, legislative requirements and emerging technologies
are driving the need for better quality information. We work to
ensure that the information available to the Met is trusted, accessible
and usable by all. We lead in the delivery of strategy, policy
and
standards for information management issues and services to the
Met, our partners and the public.
