Our structure
The Directorate of Information (DoI) is made up of eight distinct business groups that work independently as well as in conjunction with one another. You can read more about each business group by clicking on the links below.
Service Delivery Group
Successful operational policing depends upon reliable technology systems. In Service Delivery Group, we are responsible for the delivery of reliable and secure Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) services through a combination of direct service provision and a number of key service suppliers.
Information Management Group
Information is the lifeblood of modern policing. The demand for instant access to information, legislative requirements and emerging technologies are driving the need for better quality information.
Business Systems & Integration Group
Managing more than 100 projects and programmes sponsored by the Met, the Business Systems and Integration Group delivers ICT solutions to support operational needs, strategic priorities and improve or upgrade current systems and infrastructure.
MoPI Programme Group
Management of Police Information (MoPI) is a national standard for the management of police information. It is about making information relevant and accessible and ensuring that all police operational information is recorded, reviewed, shared and deleted on a consistent basis across the entire Police Service.
Business Services & IT Training Group
Providing timely, effective and efficient services that make a real difference to the overall performance of the DoI, the Business Services and IT Training Group leads on IT training for the Met to support police officers and staff across the organisation.
Strategy, Programmes & Co-ordination Group
Playing a lead role in the DoI’s overall strategy development, the Strategy, Programmes and Co-ordination Group was created to ensure that DoI strategies and activities support the Met’s corporate and policing aims.
Technology Group
From working on counter-terrorist surveillance technologies to developing new electronic devices for use in intelligence gathering, Technology Group is responsible for producing, maintaining and managing the implementation of all Met technology-related strategies.
Command & Control Users Services Group
Command and Control Users Services provide the user interface for the technologies that support the Met’s response policing activity. This interface covers the systems that enable communication, call-handling, resource management and deployment, data collection and processing as well as providing user support.
