Service Delivery Group

Successful operational policing depends upon reliable technology systems. In Service Delivery Group, we are responsible for the delivery of reliable and secure Information, Communications and Technology (ICT) services through a combination of direct service provision and a number of key service suppliers including Capgemini, Unisys and Arqiva and national services like Airwave. Our central purpose is to manage internal and external service provision and ensure performance levels meet the required standards.

Our work includes:

  • Providing secure and dependable ICT services that meet agreed user needs and therefore help ensure successful operational policing. SDG is central to ensuring our ICT systems and services are available to staff and officers 24/7/365.
  • The internal management of services for secure IT applications and the direct provision of specialist police computing services.
  • Transferring new ICT solutions and changes to supported systems into service.
  • Ensuring Met ICT service continuity and security requirements are met by service and infrastructure providers.
  • Supporting and maintaining approximately around 30,000 desktops and laptops, 38,000 telephone extensions, 15,000 mobile phones, 40,000 Airwave radios, 1800 in-vehicle mobile data terminals, Integrated Communications Control System (ICCS) terminals and 999 services and support the Met software applications.
