Uniformed Sergeants

The security of the capital is crucial in working for a safer London and providing reassurance for all people who live, work and visit here. This is a city with its own distinctive challenges and we need more police officers to ensure we meet our ongoing operational commitments.

As a result, we are keen to hear from police officers who have completed their probation period and wish to transfer to London. This includes both detectives and uniformed constables – in particular those with response driving experience. Also uniformed sergeants, especially those with community policing experience.

In return we can promise a multitude of opportunities in locations across London. From community policing to public order, and from critical incident management to ‘day-to-day’ borough policing – no other police service can offer anything approaching the diversity of roles and responsibilities.  But make no mistake, we’re looking for officers who know they’re taking on a tough task.
